Description

Highly efficient, single-use CPR pocket face mask with a one-way valve and protective clamshell case, ensuring safe resuscitation for both adults and children.

Confident and proactive resuscitation with Steroplast's protective CPR mask.

In the critical moments of a cardiac emergency, the Steroplast CPR Pocket Face Mask stands as an indispensable ally, ensuring that life-saving resuscitation can be administered promptly and safely. Designed for single use, the mask incorporates a one-way valve to prevent cross-infection, providing peace of mind for both the rescuer and the casualty. With the knowledge that timely initiation of CPR is essential — failure to act within two minutes can prove fatal — this device allows first responders to concentrate solely on the urgent task at hand.

The Steroplast Pocket Mask is engineered to act as a robust barrier, mitigating the risks of transmissible infections such as HIV and hepatitis B and eliminating concerns over blood or vomit contamination. Crafted to mould seamlessly with the casualty's face, it assures efficient breath delivery without direct mouth-to-mouth contact. Housed in a protective clamshell case, this vital component of any first aid kit is readily available for quick deployment, making it a critical tool for first aiders and medical professionals to carry out safe and effective CPR.

How to use the CPR Pocket Face Mask

  1. Prepare the Casualty: Tilt the casualty's head back to open their airway.
  2. Position the Mask: Place the mask on the patient’s face, using the thumbs of both hands to secure its position.
  3. Secure the Jaw: Use your fingers to lift the angle of the patient’s jaw into the mask.
  4. Ensure a Tight Seal: Press down on the mask with a firm grip to create an airtight seal against the face.
  5. Begin Resuscitation: Blow into the inlet to deliver breaths, observing the chest for a rise to confirm airflow.
  6. Measured Breathing: Administer each breath over the course of approximately 1 second, avoiding over-inflation of the lungs.
  7. Adjust as Necessary: If you detect air leaks, readjust your grip to ensure the mask maintains a tight seal.

Be cautious not to blow too forcefully to prevent air from entering the stomach, which could lead to regurgitation or vomiting. Each breath should be gentle and just enough to see the chest rise and fall.

When to Seek Medical Assistance

If someone goes into cardiac arrest, the first thing you should do is call 999 and request an ambulance. CPR is the first vital step in saving someone in cardiac arrest, but the only way to get their heart beating normally again is to use a defibrillator. The call handler will be able to direct you to the closest defibrillator and send paramedics your way as quickly as possible.
